diVid

About diVid

diVid is a free daily number puzzle. Five 45-second rounds, a new board and new keys every day, and no account needed for the daily game.

How it plays

Link up to four touching tiles, add their values, and bank the chain whenever the total divides evenly by the day's key. Longer chains and larger totals score more, and whatever is left on the clock pays a time bonus.

There is a second game each day for anyone with a free account. Hard mode deals a board of its own and takes the colours away, so a chain has to be worked out rather than seen, and your game, your best score and your run of days follow you onto any device you sign in on.

Why it exists

diVid is a short, sharp piece of mental arithmetic: adding under time, spotting what divides by what, and using the times tables you already know. It is made for players of every age, a quick warm-up or a two-minute puzzle with your tea or coffee.

Every player gets the same board and the same keys on the same day, so a score means the same thing whoever posts it.

Who makes it

diVid is a one-person project by Steve De Domenico. It is free to play, carries no advertising, and asks for nothing but three initials before you play.
